Okay, so she arrived 8 days ago, but I've been a little busy! She came into the world on April 12th, 2010 at 8:56am. She was 7 lbs, 3 oz and 19 inches long. She has blonde hair!! Even Brian didn't have blonde hair when he was born. She has tiny little hands and feet and is the sweetest baby ever. She hardly cries, has to be woken up to eat, knows to sleep at night and stay awake during the day, she's already going 5-6 hours between feedings at night. If all babies were this easy, we'd have 20! She saw the Pediatrician yesterday and has already gotten back to her birthweight, plus 3 oz. Big Brother Brian is so sweet to her and hasn't seemed jealous of her at all, although he's acting out with us just a little bit. One time when Steve was holding her, he wanted to play, so he said "Daddy, Grandma wants to hold the baby now!" Subtle, very subtle. My mom, Grandma, was here for 8 days to watch out after Brian and see Emily, and was a huge help just keeping the house running. But overall, our little family of four is doing well. A tiny bit tired, but very happy to have Emily here now! I'll try to post more pictures soon but no promises!!Sunday, April 18, 2010

Baby Emily Update~38 weeks, 5 days!
Well, we saw the Doctor this morning and have scheduled an induction for sunday night. We go in at 10pm, they'll start with the cervical gel and then break my water and start pitocin first thing in the morning. So, we are anticipating the birth of little Emily sometime during the day on monday if everything goes well. We have to go with our second choice hospital because our first choice is booked up for scheduled inductions until my due date and they have been turning away scheduled inductions on busy nights. So, we could have waited all the way til my due date, just to be turned away. Of course we could always wait for labor to come on its own but my back hurts and I'm not sleeping and I just want to get it over with already! My doctor doesn't seem overly concerned about her size but says he'd like to see her born next week so she doesn't get too big, fine with me!! The hospital I'll deliver at doesn't have WiFi (who doesn't have WiFi? It's 2010 people!) so I won't be able to update FB or the blog as much as I'd like but hopefully my mom and Steve can keep everyone posted until Emily and I come home. My mom will be flying in Sunday morning, assuming Emily doesn't arrive sooner. So, yay, 5 days to go!!!

Welcome to Emily's Cupcake Bakery Nursery!
I have finally gotten around to taking pictures of Emily's nursery. It took me a while to put together since I made alot of things in it. I knew I wanted it decorated in a cupcake theme and I couldn't find much cupcake stuff out there so I either made it or had it made! I love how it turned out and how girly it is! Can't wait for her to see it!

Baby Emily Update~~38 weeks!
We visited the OB this morning as I am 38 weeks pregnant today. Still nothing happening, no real contractions, no dilation. So, I'll see Dr. Sun again on wednesday when I'm 38 weeks, 5 days and we'll schedule an induction for the following week. He's out of town Thursday through Sunday next week so the soonest I can start the induction is Sunday night, Emily would probably be born Monday, April 12th. So, that's the plan for now, it could all change if she decides to leave her warm and cozy home on her own! Also, the hospital we are choosing to deliver at is super busy right now and has been having to turn away some scheduled inductions to accomodate people whose children don't hide in their uterus indefinitely (spontanteous labor) so we could always get turned away. In that case, we could try again another day or go over to our backup hospital, which is not as busy. So anyways, more news on wednesday I'm sure. She's almost here!!
