Take Me Out to the (Spring Training) Ball Game!

We live about 10 minutes away from the Goodyear Ball Park, the spring training campus for the Reds and Indians. Every single day this month there has been a game at the ball park and Steve drools with jealousy every time we pass the full stadium. So I finally suggested we skip Brian's naptime (all the games are at 1pm--prime nap time) and attend a game on sunday. It just happened that the Reds were playing the LA Dodgers. The Dodgers won 2-1.
Brian loves baseball--he plays a little t-ball on saturdays now, loves to throw and catch with Steve (or anyone who will agree to it) and he seemed interested in the summer last year when we took him to an AZ Diamondbacks game. We've found that the key is food, food, and more food. During the course of the game, he ate a hot dog, yogurt, goldfish, fruit gummies, a lemonade, and some "pink ice cream" (strawberry). When the food was all gone and he started to complain of being tired and bored, we handed him clean wipes and told him to clean the seats--that bought us the last two innings. Near the end of the game, the camera guy came our way and Brian had about 15 seconds of fame on the scoreboard big screen, waving and smiling. The nice people sitting behind us took some pictures of the screen and later emailed them to me! When the game was over, Brian and Steve ran the bases and we drove home quickly so Brian could have a late nap!

Baby Emily Update! 37 weeks!

Me and Emily at 37 weeks
I'm 37 weeks as of yesterday and we saw the OB friday morning, no contractions yet, and he says I'm dilated to 1/2 cm but I think he was just trying to be nice! He estimated that Emily is about 7 pounds right now and that she'll probably be about the same size Brian was at birth (he was 7lbs, 11oz and 20.5 inches long). The good news is that other than a weeklong family bout with the flu last week, I'm feeling really good. I'm not nearly as uncomfortable as I was in my last month with Brian's pregnancy and actually feel smaller than I did with him at the end, although I'm probably not. So hopefully she'll be here in about two weeks! (I'm still counting on that promised induction at 39 weeks if I don't go into labor on my own before then)

Daddy and Me Sports

Brian and Steve started a Pee-Wee Sports class last saturday morning. The kids are ages 3-5, so it was kinda like watching someone herd kittens but it was really cute. Brian seemed to enjoy all the drills, hitting the ball off the T, running the bases, and practicing his "bunny hop." By the way, Steve has a pretty badass bunny hop for a fighter pilot, wish I had video to share.....Anyways, it was a little distracting for Brian (and frustrating for Steve) to have me sitting a few yards away looking all cuddly with a sippy cup of ice water. Brian kept breaking from the game to visit with me and have sips of water, so I am now banned as a spectator from all future saturday morning classes, darn. I may have to suffer alone during that one hour a week......sipping a Starbucks while getting my nails done or shopping alone, it will be rough and I'll miss my boys dearly, but I'm just going to have to be strong!!

Batter up!

A home run?! Or is that a bunt?!

Running the bases with Coach's help

Heading for home

I'm not really sure what it is, but Steve assures me it's something important having to do with sports?!

Twins?!

Baby Emily Update

I saw my doctor on friday and I'm 35 weeks pregnant, I'm measuring right on, baby Emily is head down and has a strong heartbeat at 167 bpm. I also found out that my doctor doesn't like to let anyone go overdue because as he says "it's bad for the baby" so he said if I'm still pregnant at 39 weeks (on April 9th) and I'd like to be induced, we'll pick a day and go for it! I'm so glad he's not one of those crazy doctors who makes you wait til a week or two after the due date to induce. So it is good to know that if I don't go into labor before April 9th on my own, I'll have an out if I want one! Now I just need to get all my baby shopping done and get the 8 million things on my to-do list knocked out! 4 weeks left! Yay!

Our Spoiled Little Prince

After a bout with the stomach flu this weekend, Brian grew accustomed to meals ending with a "pop-a-sicle" so first thing this morning, our door swings open and we hear "I am sick and need to eat a pop-a-sicle right away! Get up Daddy! Daddy? CAN YOU HEAR ME!?" (I'm so glad the door is on Steve's side of the bed!) Rest assured that Brian just had a touch of the flu and only vomited once (on Steve, so that evens things up a bit as far as who has been barfed on more). He was fine by evening yesterday and slept great last night, but of course thought himself sick enough for one last pediasure popsicle after breakfast!

Why hold your own "pop-a-sicle" when Daddy can hold it for you, while you lounge with your arms behind your head, watching cartoons? These people I live with do whatever I tell them to!

Baby Shower!

My cousin Noelia and friend Jen threw myself and my friend Katie (due with twin boys in May) a joint baby shower this weekend. I had lots of fun and Emily got tons of cute things! I'll spare you all the present opening pictures my mom took and show you pictures of me with the party guests instead.
